   "AIR CONDO"

Smokin' Hot 70's Sound

A long time ago in a galaxy just like this one there was a group that did things a little bit differently than the other 6 night a week bar bands plying their trade in the Motor City back in the late '70's. Ah yes. It was the days before the dreaded karoake bars and the vile and pernicious DJs put all the players on 9 to 5 schedules instead of the 9 to 2's (AM) they had grown so accustomed to. A time when a musician didn't need a "day gig" to survive.

Air Condo was a breed apart from the other groups playing the Detroit circuit. Disco hits were the cover tune flavors of the day and the band was even tagged with the unofficial title of #1 Disco Band in Town.

They were not amused. So, the Disco Inferno's and the Boogie Oogie Oogie's were on the list but the band made sure that the version they played was the antithesis of what might be considered a faithful rendition. Whether changing lyrics or extending the songs to ridiculous lengths so the soloists could indulge themselves, the songs were punished severely and deservedly so.

And if that wasn't enough to separate them from the pack, the band regularly pulled off a feat few others would attempt. They played originals. Lots of them. And the fans came and listened and the bar owners growled and scowled but in the end, acquiesced. After all, the paying customers were in the house and the registers were ringing.

Now you can relive with us the glory days of Detroit's best late '70's band that never hit the big time.

The Mayor Says.....
Air Condo is one of the most energetic and talented bands I have ever heard.

I bought a copy of both CD's. They are  fabulous.

These Cats can write, play, and party down with the best of  'em and OOO-WEE are they  G-O-O-D !!

And  the Mayor  gives their  music  an A+ rating..... Buy Both CD's.......They're a steal at this price.
