"Talent That Sticks "

There has been no writer/perfomer since Lennon and McCartney and the Beatles broke up as a team that has been able to dominate the charts and capture the heartbeat of their generation for more than a few short years.

Michael Jackson, Prince , and Bruce Springsteen  all came close and the sounds of their great songs will always fill our memories. But if you were to pick which one was the dominate one for their era you would have to pick all three.

In recent memory the  " collective whole" has dominated the music scene and we have gone from New Kids on the Block  to the Spice Girls to The Back Street Boys  to N'sync as the hot band of the moment and to date none of them have achieved  more then momentary glory.

The music industry is and always will be  looking for the next "big thing" but where are the artists that have the "talent that sticks."

After listening to Samah's full catalog of songs, I believe this  group has the potential to be one of "those artists"

Any athlete will tell you the difference between being excellence and being a "superstar" is small .... but it is those "small things"  that make the difference between becoming  "legendary" or  spending your life re-living memories of being a Saturday afternoon hero.

Rock Wilk, the chief songwriter for Samah, possesses all the qualities upon which legends are made.
He has surrounded himself with an arsenal of the most talented  singers and players in the industry and every song that he has written takes  the listener along  a musical path building  to a dramatic  climax.

His music virtually leaves the listener amazed at the sounds that are treating their ears.

Every song is filled with hooks that are cleverly interwoven in and out of every verse.

The music is definitely.... the sound of the new millennium.

Will Samah break through and be  the Beatles of the new Millennium.

That remains to be seen.... but the talent is there. The material and arrangements are there.... and Rock Wilk is a Master Tunesmith.

When you sample their catalogue of material...... you won't find a single song that won't touch your heart.

Samah definitely has the sound that sticks in your brain months after you've heard it.

Given the opportunity, I believe, Samah has the  stuff , not only to go all the way...... but to stay there.

Erich Glaubitz

Reminiscent of Third Eye Blind
(only hotter!!)

The  totally interesting guitar tunings will catch your ear immediately.
The lyrics draw you in and haunt you long after the first listening.

Erich's voice has been described as "velvet smoke" (not to be confused with "Velvet Fog") with a soft airiness and a dash of scratchy rasp. His guitar playing is free and effortless. His songs are melodic, but still edgy and soulful. His lyrics are from the heart.

Erich is formerly of the cutting edge BMG/Ear Candy Records band Zone Patrol and of the premier NYC band Liquid. Now on his own, he has been digging down into to the cavernous depths of his inner self to create the ultimate collection of songs on his album "Erich Glaubitz." Also now available (only on MP3.com) is a collection of songs written right after he left Liquid. They are heavy, biting songs with an edge reminiscent of his days with Liquid. The CD is called "Worm."

Erich has the talent to go a long way. One listen and you will agree.

Hunter Payne

Music That "Knows No Boundaries"

They tried to label him Country.. yet his "One Last Chance" hit  # 37 the day it entered the Pop Vocal Charts.

Coincidentally the same day it was  #1 on the country charts

Bonnie Raitt and the late Leonard Bernstein both praised his work as an artist
I guess they must like Country music, too.

Hunter's Music may be classified Country..... but it has one unique characteristic. It appeals to everyone.

The reason is simple, he can take one simple hook line and weave it into a tapestry of musical magic that  leaves the  listener glued to the chair until the the last note is played. From the first strum on his guitar till the final chords fade  into oblivion, this phenomenal artist will cast his magical spell on you and keep you hanging on every word.

Hunter is not just a great writer..... he's a fabulous singer with a fabulous a fabulous range and  he can belt out a song as convincingly as the best that ever was. He's not just a great singer that will have you riveted to your  seat
in excited anticipation.

What's different about Hunter is heart.

Not his (although he's got plenty of it), but yours.

He'll move it .....and  make you feel you can climb mountains.

He'll break it ..... and bring you to tears.

and  he's doing it  in such a clever way...your amazed that music so simple ......could ever be so good.

Guess that's why  they call it  Country.

Guess that's why it crosses genres so well.

Guess that's why they say his music "knows no boundaries. "

Artist history:
McKay Into You was originally released in 1978. Our band was called Loos during the making of McKay but by the time the LP was completed the band no longer existed. The front jacket of the LPs read "McKay Into You" and the backs were blank. it took two years to complete and was first recorded at Blue Mountain Studio in Indianapolis with Bud Osborne engineering. Out of the ten recordings completed at Blue Mountain only four were used for McKay: Eleanor, Roll on Life, On He Goes and the beginning to The Wind. The rest were replaced or or re-recorded in my home studio on a four channel Teac reel to reel. Actually, it was a room with mattresses, dirty clothes, musical instruments, beer cans, paraphernalia, etc. The musicians, Glen Pierle, Norm Preston, Steve Whaley and I would congregate and partake and dabble in multitrack recording. The vocals and lead guitars in some songs were dubbed later. While some of the songs are of a serious nature lyrically, the recordings or parties were a lot of fun as you can hear. Most of the rhythm tracks with drums, rhythm guitar and bass were recorded live, some with one microphone, then leads and vocals were dubbed later.Recording live together was short lived for us, though we're all still actively playing music today.
Group members:
ray pierle, glen pierle, steve whaley, norm preston, lynn steffen, steve whitesell, tony watson, chris cavinder, don pierle, ken pierle, phil pierle, heidi patterson

Scott and Lisa Kuehn

Soul Mates

Originally I Sent Scott to be reviewed by Doug Stone in the "Unsung Heroes" Section. Everything that I had heard from Scott was Instrumental and exceptional. I felt he deserved  to be mentioned with the best "Film Score  and Classical Writers " on MP3

Doug wrote me back and said "Neal,I think you are misclassifying this guy. Have you heard the songs  that are on his latest CD..... You might want to re-think your stately....... Soul Mates is a Stone Cold Solid....# 1 Hit.....I wish I wrote it."

So I went in and listened   and I can only say......Pheew....Wow....... Great.

Scott's wife Lisa has provided the perfect compliment to his exceptional playing.

Scott If I was a publisher..... I would grab this one right away..

The whole Cd is excellent....... but the Soul mates song is the stuff from which legends are written !!

Will you  write another one just like it for me !!

Elliott Pacetti

Elliot is a great Story teller. He's a country artist and lives in Nashville Tennessee. This what a lot of people there are saying about him:

"...a warm powerful voice like a shot of tequila for breakfast...there's a new outlaw in town."
   -Mauro Eufrosini, JAM Magazine

"Elliott's songs remind me a lot of Kris Kristofferson's writing. It goes right to the soul...We plan to use more of his work on the next album."
   -Karen Johnson, Johnson Entertainment Services

"Elliott Pacetti, originally from Florida and now living in Nashville, is a fine singer and songwriter. Pacetti's music exhibits a strong reverence for traditional country music. His biggest influence is Waylon Jennings, and he has a strong streak of that 'outlaw' sound..."
   -Joe Norwood, Mp3.com

Check his music out and see if you don't agree.
